3D to 2D

For my 3D to 2D image, I decided to manipulate a photo of my Momento in photoshop and InDesign. Initially, I thought about drawing on the photo but then decided that it was not interesting enough that way. Instead, I chose to trace the wood grain of the wooden "rock" with the pen tool in Illustrator. I then changed that stroke appearance to have more of a hand-drawn quality. Then, I converted the strokes to shapes and created a clipping mask with the strokes and a gold foil texture. I then added a background of solid black to make the gold leaf texture pop. I decided to take the design a step further by making it an album cover for one of my favorite albums -- Cleopatra by the Lumineers.
